Matrix is a leading international supplier of technology and electronics resources. Due to rapid business growth, we are looking for someone who can develop our web site and implement our digital strategy.
Matrix is looking for a web designer who can create/edit digital videos and understands how to execute a search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy. You will be responsible for supporting our commercial team's aspirations of creating an industry leading web site.
Salary Range: up to £21k pro rata with £3k bonus
Bonus - £1K after 3 months with the remaining bonus paid on successful completion of contract period.
Hours: 9 – 5.30 pm
Based at Halifax 37.5 hrs per week
22 days pro rata plus public holidays
The role
To succeed in this position you will be responsible for all aspects web design and digital media production, from initial specification to final design. You will be supported through direct liaison with the commercial team.
Your responsibilities will be:

- To work with the commercial team to design and develop the corporate website ensuring strong functionality and optimisation.
- To film, edit and link a range of videos for the web site and third party web sites.
- To develop web page infrastructure and application related to pages with more advanced graphics and features.
About you
You will ideally have:
- Proven web design experience

An understanding of PHP, SQL, CSS and HTML
- Experience of using popular web design tools – Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.
- The ability to create and edit web-optimised videos
- A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of SEO techniques

Knowledge or understanding of e-commerce and social marketing would be advantageous
Qualifications skills, competence and abilities:
- You will be able to demonstrate the skills and abilities listed either through commercial experience or have a degree (or equivalent) in a related subject.
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, written and oral, adapting to all levels of audience.

The ability to work to tight timescales; remove obstacles to progress and complete projects.

Matrix is looking for an experienced C++ Software Developer to join an expanding team of driven individuals to help develop our growing portfolio of Windows-based products.
Salary Range: 25k-35k depending on skills and experience
Hours: 9 – 5.30 pm
37.5 hrs per week
The role

About you
You will have:
- Excellent C++ skills in a Windows environment, ideally with a good knowledge of MFC and COM
- Commercial experience developing Windows-based software applications
- A working knowledge of other programming languages such as VB6, VB.NET, C#
- Knowledge / experience of database systems – e.g. MS Access, SQL
- Experience of developing GUIs
Qualifications skills, competence and abilities:
You will have:
- An ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies
- A good standard of education, to at least degree level or equivalent
- Great communication skills, both verbally and written
- Solid numeracy skills, preferably with a high grade at A-level mathematics or equivalent
